Young Musicians Shine at the Popular Contemporary Music Festival!
Last Saturday, my talented students had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the Popular and Contemporary Music Festival, organized by the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC), Northern San Diego Chapter, and held at Steinway Gallery.
It was an exciting and memorable experience for students of different ages and musical levels to perform contemporary music, explore modern musical styles, and enjoy the special atmosphere of being on stage. I am incredibly proud of every participant! As always, the students demonstrated beautiful musicality, artistic expression, strong individual character, and growing technical skills. Each performance reflected their dedication, hard work, and careful preparation. It was especially rewarding to see how confidently the young musicians presented their pieces, expressing their personalities and sharing their love of music with the audience.
Every student performed wonderfully according to their age and musical level, showing impressive progress and enthusiasm. Participating in festivals like this is an important part of musical education. These experiences help students develop stage confidence, overcome performance challenges, discover new repertoire, and become more expressive musicians. They also provide a wonderful opportunity to listen to other performers, gain inspiration, and experience the joy of sharing music with others.

None of these achievements would be possible without the incredible support of my students’ families. I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to all the parents who encouraged their children, supported their daily practice, and made every effort to help them participate in this special event. Your dedication, patience, and involvement play an essential role in your children’s musical success. Thank you for being such an important part of their musical journey!
My students and I would also like to thank the MTAC Northern San Diego Chapter for organizing this wonderful festival and providing young musicians with such a valuable performance opportunity.
Everyone is already looking forward to participating again next year, discovering new musical challenges, and celebrating even more achievements together!
