It brings me so much joy to share a proud and meaningful milestone for my students: they have all received gold medals and certificates of participation from the Romantic Festival held right here in beautiful San Diego. The event was thoughtfully organized by the Northern Branch of the Music Teachers' Association of California (MTAC) and brought together young musicians from across our region to celebrate the beauty and passion of Romantic-era music.

Every moment of this festival was memorable—from the first note played to the final round of applause. The energy in the room, the excitement in the air, and the support from families and fellow musicians created an atmosphere that was both inspiring and heartwarming. Watching my students perform with such poise and emotion reminded me once again how powerful music can be.
I am deeply proud of each one of my students who participated. Earning gold medals is a wonderful achievement, but what matters even more is the growth I see in them every time they prepare for an event like this. Performing in front of an audience takes courage, commitment, and emotional strength. It helps build their confidence, sharpens their focus, and improves their technical and expressive skills. Most of all, it teaches them how to channel their emotions through music—a gift that will stay with them for a lifetime.
These festivals give us something to work toward together, and that shared goal adds a special spark to our lessons. When students are motivated, their practice becomes more purposeful and their musical understanding deepens. It’s truly a joy to witness that transformation in each lesson—when students return with more determination, better posture, stronger technique, and brighter smiles.
And of course, none of this would be possible without the unwavering support of my students’ parents. Thank you for being such a vital part of this journey. Your dedication, encouragement, and belief in your children’s potential make all the difference. I always say it takes a team, and I am so grateful to have such a loving, committed group of families around me. Your support is my inspiration.

One of my favorite parts of this celebration has been looking through the beautiful pictures of my students after the festival. Their smiling faces and shining eyes are the true rewards. Those moments—the joy on their faces, the pride in their accomplishments—fill me with a deep sense of purpose. It reminds me why I do what I do.

I have always believed that music can change the world, and my students help me believe in that every day. Through their playing, their dedication, and their love for music, they are spreading light and joy. They are the future of music, and I am so honored to be part of their journey.
Here’s to many more musical moments, golden memories, and dreams realized—together.
With all my heart,
Gyuli
