It is a true joy and honor to share a remarkable milestone in the musical journey of my student, Jacob Wu. His recent accomplishments reflect not only exceptional talent, but also deep dedication, imagination, and a genuine love for the art of composition.

Jacob received the highest possible evaluation, a perfect score of 5 out of 5, in the MTAC Composers Today Evaluation. This outstanding result led to his invitation to participate in the Composers Today Symposium in Los Angeles, where selected young composers are given the opportunity to present their original works on a distinguished stage at the MTAC Convention.

In addition to this recognition, Jacob is also eligible to take part in the Composers Today State Contest, a highly competitive statewide event that celebrates creativity, craftsmanship, and musical vision.

What makes Jacob’s path especially inspiring is the scale of his artistic ambition. He is currently composing a large symphonic work written for a full symphony orchestra, demonstrating a rare level of musical maturity and an impressive understanding of form, orchestration, and expressive depth. His music reveals a thoughtful balance between structure and imagination, inviting listeners into a vivid and evolving sound world.
