A Golden Day at the Romantic Festival – Celebrating Music, Growth, and Community

Saturday, April 26th, was a day I will always cherish—a beautiful blend of achievement, music, and heartfelt connection. My students participated in the Romantic Festival organized by the MTAC North Division, and I am beyond proud to share that all nine of my students earned gold medals for their performances. What a remarkable accomplishment!

This festival showcased the expressive depth and technical beauty of Romantic-era music, and my students rose to the occasion with grace, passion, and skill. The participants ranged in age from 5 to 14, and it was incredible to see how each one brought their own musical story to life on stage. From the tiniest hands gracefully playing with sensitivity, to the confident expression of my older students, every performance was filled with artistry and purpose.

Each student demonstrated not only musical excellence, but also growth in confidence and stage presence. Their motor skills were precise, every note was clear, and the level of musicality they expressed

was truly beyond their years. These are the moments when all the hard work, practice, and perseverance shine so brightly.

The Romantic Festival is more than just a competition—it’s a celebration of artistry, emotion, and connection through music. I’m incredibly grateful to the wonderful organizers who made it happen, especially Valeria Kravchenko and John Sloan, whose dedication and efforts brought such a special event to life. Your commitment to supporting young musicians does not go unnoticed, and we all thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing parents who stand behind their children every step of the way. Your support, encouragement, and patience are the foundation of your children’s success. I see the late-night practice sessions, the busy schedules, and the sacrifices made—and I want you to know how much it’s appreciated. Thank you for being my partners on this journey.

After the festival, we celebrated together with a well-deserved pizza party! All of my students came together to laugh, share stories, and talk about their recent experiences, including the Certificate of Merit (CM) tests, where many of them received Honors recognition.

We reminisced about funny moments in the studio,

shared our challenges and triumphs, and enjoyed

simply being together outside of the usual lesson environment.

This day reminded me why I love what I do. Seeing my students proud of themselves, watching their friendships form, and feeling the warmth of our little musical community—it truly made my heart full. As a teacher, these are the moments that fuel me.

I look forward to many more festivals, competitions, recitals, and celebrations ahead. With the talent, dedication, and spirit in our studio, I know we’ll continue to grow, inspire one another, and share the joy of music with the world.

Thank you again to everyone who made this day so bright and meaningful. Let’s keep making music—and memories—together.
