🎶 Popular & Contemporary Music Festival at Steinway Gallery 🎶

Last Saturday was an incredible day for my students and me! We had the pleasure of participating in the Popular and Contemporary Music Festival, held at the beautiful Steinway Gallery in Miramar. It was such a joy to see my students perform with confidence, creativity, and passion.
Each student selected and played a piece one level above their current level, showing impressive growth both technically and musically. Their performances were filled with expression, sensitivity, and a deep understanding of each composer’s unique style. The repertoire included an exciting variety of modern and contemporary composers such as Christopher Norton, Aaron Copland, Gaudet, Babajanian, Alexander, and more — composers whose music my students truly enjoy exploring and performing.
As a contemporary composer myself, it is a true honor and joy to witness how my students connect with modern music — not only playing the notes but also understanding the ideas, emotions, and stories behind each piece. Our participants, ranging in age from 5 to 15 years old, each captured the spirit of their music beautifully, interpreting it in their own special way.
A special thank-you goes to the festival organizers for creating such a wonderfully inspiring and well-organized event. Every student received a trophy for participation, making the experience even more memorable.
And of course, a heartfelt thank you to all the parents for your continuous support, encouragement, and time. Thank you for bringing your families and friends to the festival to cheer for the kids! Your presence, enthusiasm, and energy truly make a difference — you help create an uplifting, joyful atmosphere that inspires every child to do their best and enjoy music even more.
We’re so proud of everyone’s achievements and can’t wait for our next event. Now, the excitement continues as we begin preparing for our Christmas Recital! The studio is already filled with the cheerful sounds of Christmas carols as students start practicing for our upcoming holiday concert.
